dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study is assessing vocabulary teaching strategies practiced by EFL teachers in Sawla , Duza and Mishakare Secondary and Preparatory Schools in grade 9-12 in Sawla Administrative town .The specific objectives of the study is, to assess whether vocabulary teaching strategies implemented by EFL teachers or not, to identify how EFL teachers implemented vocabulary teaching strategies, to assess the extent EFL teachers help learner with vocabulary teaching strategies. The researcher chooses an explanatory sequential design method because it increases popularity. To achieve the objectives 10 English teachers and 160students, 95 male and 65 female participated from grades 9,10,11 and 12 in both Schools. The main data gathering instrument were questionnaire, observation and interview .The finding and the result of the study indicated that cognitive, Met cognitive and, Determination strategies implemented en_US
