The road construction industry faces management challenges on successful completion of
road construction projects This study was mainly set out with a general purpose is the
impact of project management implementation practices on successful completion of
construction projects at south road authority case of hosanna district. To achieve this
objective, the study employed both descriptive and explanatory research and both primary
and secondary data were used. Questionnaires, interview, and document review were,
therefore, used as data collection tools. The survey questionnaire was designed based on
the literature and on the information collected through the document review of the
project. The study was designed that both quantitative and qualitative data were collected by
the use of the questionnaire and interview to generate respectively quantitative and
qualitative data to analyze and understand the relationships between the variables. Size of 34
samples of respondents was taken from large population. The data gathered through the
questionnaire was analyzed by Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) and the relative
importance index .The study then sought to address the following objectives; determine the
role of the management on successful completion of project, examines the relationship
between managerial styles and successful completion, and analyze the success criteria for
hosanna district projects. The instruments used to collect the data helped to reach the
following findings: 45.71% of the respondents ascertained the role of the management to be
high in successful completion of project; also 44.73% ranked that role of management to be
was very high. Henceforth, the relationship between managerial styles and projects
successfully completed was found as per the findings indicate that 29.9% and 39.2% of the
respondent confirmed respectively that the participative style used was excellent and good.
Although project success depends on project management success and the success of the end
product. Project success is influenced by many different factors, outside the control of project
management. The influence of project management tools and techniques on project success
depends on the practitioners’ training, the timing and level of implementation achieved,
whereas the human factor plays an essential part for achieving project success. This study
concludes that project management success represents essential ingredients for achieving
project success, therefore, positively influencing project success |
