Abstract:
Title: This study assessed factors affecting the efficiency of public organizations
procurement among public institution in Derashespecial woreda. Methodologically:
this study has been conducted through a mixed research design. Since the population
was not very large (83), a census method was adopted.Questionnaire and
interviewdesigned to collect data from the participants. Data collected was analysed
using descriptive statistics, binary regression and cross tabulation chi square. The
effect of the aforementioned variable tested at 0.05 significant levels. The findings
indicate thateffective procurement planning, adequate resource allocation, sufficient
legalframework; have a positive and statistically significant impact on efficiency of
public procurement processes. Based on the results, the study recommends thatthe
government should provide continuous and actual work based training to the official,
adequate resource should be considered and budgeting procedure should be
revised.Further the study recommended that the government should made its best for
the development of small enterprises so as to maximize the competition; and
thegovernment should considered social responsibility and green procurement on its
tender process
