dc.description.abstract Employee satisfaction is major factor to the organizational Success. Despite job satisfaction determines the survival and growth of organizations; less attention is given to this important part of human resource management. The major objective of this study is to investigate the determinants of job satisfaction and the impact of job satisfaction on performance of private banks in case of Arba Minch town. The study employed quantitative cross sectional design which use the data collected from 68 respondents who employees of private bank in Arbaminch using structured questionnaire. In addition the data was analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. The study finding revealed that sovereignty, reliance on management, management support, reward and recognition and satisfaction has positive relationship with organizational performance but there is no strong significant relationship among Sovereignty and Reward/recognition with organization performance. In reverses average management support and average satisfaction has positive strong effect on organizational performance with P- value of 0.000 at specific private banks in Arbaminch town holding other variables constant. Thus the owner and top management body must give special emphasis for maximizing employees’ satisfaction to improve the performance of the private banks in the study area. en_US
