Abstract:
The study was conducted to evaluate the implementation of teaching physics though plasma-
TV: the case of Mirab Azerent Berebare Wereda in Lera and Mugo Secondary and
Preparatory Schools in grade 11th
. To achieve the objectives of the study, research questions
find out the problem of implementation of teaching physics in plasma-TV by using the
response of respondents such as teachers, students, supervisors and school principals. Based
on this, the research employed both qualitatively and quantitatively (mixed approach),
because the data obtained from interview and open-ended questionnaires needed qualitative
analysis and the data obtained through close-ended questionnaire need quantifying. The
research helped valid information which was strengthening the power of putting genuine
solutions. The data collected during the study were analyzed using Statistical Package for
Social Sciences (SPSS) version 16.0. Descriptive statistics were used comprise frequency
counts, percentages, means, SD. The results of this study indicated that the average interest
(68.35%) to teach physics with plasma-TV, from teachers and students result the low
(63.95%) adaptation of activities that done by plasma teacher after the class in both schools,
low availability of infrastructure and man power in both sample schools according to my
observation and respondents result, insufficient integrated work done by classroom teachers
and plasma-TV teacher according to teachers’ and students result, though the classroom
observation inefficient consideration of translation words by classroom teachers. It is
recommended that classroom teachers should improve and create the good condition for
translate of the core idea of the lesson of teaching physics in plasma-TV, give them tutorials,
homework and group work. Therefore, the above mention plasma methods of teaching were
one way of teaching in the curriculum and the area either due to regular continuity or partial
continuity of plasma-TV.
