dc.description.abstract Typhoid fever i s a li fe threate ning illn ess caused by e ith er of the bacterium Salmonella typhi, Salmonella enteric or Seravor typhi. I t is a worldwide disease mainly transmitted by in gestion of food and water conta minated with the feces of an infected person containing the bacteria. Typhoid fever is more likely common in developin g countries and deaths due to its complication are also hi gh in these countries. Descriptive study were used to determine its general prevalence as well as prevalence in term of sex and age groups of four months based on Wida! reactivity test at Beletshachew Health Center, Lideta Sub City, Addis Ababa Ethiopia,2015. The study used Wida! test result of clinicall y t yphoid suspected patients. From the study, 5% of males and 6% of females were typhoid suspected and widal reactive. 0.86 % of children, 1.66% of adults, 2.78% of elder aged clients, and 6.16% old age clients were widal reactive. The total prevalence of widal reactive: test was 11.66%. From the study there was no a significant mean score difference between both of the sexes in widal reactive test and typhoid infection. It was common in older age clients than clients of the other age groups. Enhancing primary health care service I could reduce the incidence of typhoid infection. en_US
