level of knowledge among women was not well assessed in Ethiopia.
Objective: - The aim of this study was to assess knowledge on pelvic organ prolapse and its
associated factors among reproductive age women at soddo town southern Ethiopia 2022
Methods: -After securing Ethical clearance from Institutional Research Ethics board, a
community based cross-sectional study was conducted on a sample of 634 reproductive age
women from April 18-May 2 2022. Multistage sampling technique was employed. Seventheen
scale standardized pelvic organ prolapse knowledge questioner used to asses the level of
knowledge and a score of 60% used as cut of point to classify the participants knowledge as
good and poor. Data was collected by face to face interview using open data kit and exported to
SPSS version 26 for statistical analysis. Both bivariate and multivariable analysis was done by
using binary logistic regression. The hosmer Lemeshow goodness of fitness test used to check
model fitness and a p-value of < 0.05 was used to declare Statistical significance
Result: - A total of 606 women were participated in the study making 95.6% response rate. The
proportions of study participants having good knowledge on pelvic organ prolapse were 18.6%
(95%CI=15%,
21%).
