dc.description.abstract In geotechnical engineering, soil compaction is the practice in which a stress applied to a soil causes densification as air is displaced from the pores between the soil grains. This paper describes mathematical models and solution to predict the compaction properties of soils (maximum dry density and optimum moisture content) from various physical properties .The correlation of compaction properties of soil with various soil parameters are investigated in this study. These correlations were derived through graphically analysis. Soils samples were collected from ten sites. The maximum dry density and optimum moisture content (O.M.C) are the compaction properties of soil, which relates many of soil parameters that included Atterberg index (liquid limit (LL), plastic limit (PL), and plastic index (PI)), percentage of fines (silt, clay). The relationship of maximum dry density and percentage of fines (silt, clay), optimum moisture content and percentage of fines are the most important relations A comparative study of the models reveals the one that can identify the best data relationships. From the mathematical models one can observe that there is a relatively good correlation between OMC and LL, PL and NMC and similarly MDD with PL, LL,and ρ. The Equation Found Are listed below   R2=0.83 R2=0.78 en_US
