Abstract:
Indigenous knowledge is traditional knowledge which exists in the different nation of one country in this world. Furthermore, Ethiopian country contains more than 80 nation and nationality which are prospered by indigenous knowledge of conflict resolution. However, Siiqqee is cultural institution stands in Oromo society for conflict resolution that performed by women. Now a day, this indigenous knowledge of Siiqqee is losing time to time in the society, because of lack of modeling and document. In order to conserve or protect this indigenous knowledge of siiqqee modeling is crucial issue. Indigenous Knowledge of siiqqee is recognized by UNESCO as a process that involves most of the activities that performed in Gada system by the women for conflict resolution. The goal of this research study is designing framework for indigenous knowledge of siiqqee conflict resolution mechanism. Researcher is attempt to convert indigenous knowledge of siiqqee in the Gada system from tacit to explicit by using model of Nonaka with knowledge management component such as capture, representation and sharing. To design proposed framework and prototype researcher collect data through interview, questionnaires, observation and document analysis. In this study researcher uses production rule to manage knowledge repository as well as SWI-Prolog tool is selected for implementation and evaluation of proposed framework and to address stated problem. The significance of this framework is to conserve, to document, and teach next generation how Indigenous knowledge of siiqqee is to resolve conflict in Oromo society.in this research study, researcher test the proposed prototype based on knowledge deliverability, activity, accessibility and suitability with estimation outcome is 70%,60%,50% and 50% respectively. The obtain result shows, proposed framework have ability to preserve and transfer Indigenous knowledge of siiqqee for the next generation
