A total sample of 124 were selected through systematic random sampling method from four organizations .The study employed questionnaire, interview, FGD and observation to collect data for the study. The analysis was done by using frequency, percentage, and chi-square tests and binary logistic regression analysis in order to measure and describe the relationship between dependent variable and explanatory variables. Results of logit indicated that factors such as marital status, monthly income, availability of credit, monthly expenditure, educational level, saving, household size, affordability of building materials, and availability of land are the main determinants of the tenure status of employees it explained 94.5% of variation and correctly classified 83.1% of cases. From all variables, tenure structure is made a relatively strong association with income and saving .To overcome the problem, giving plots of land for housing, condominium housing scheme should be taken a special attention and using local building materials to make low- and middle- income employees homeowners. Controlling mechanism need to be established by Bahir Dar City municipality to solve the problem of land delivery system and financial institutions should be available for housing loan with appropriate criteria with low interest rate and long time for the repayment of the amount of the loan. Moreover, social institutions like Equb need to be promoted for middle-and low-income employees to improve the habit of saving en_US
