dc.description.abstract Back ground: Healthcare professionals' performance is vital for productivity, requiring strong leadership, a positive working environment, and job satisfaction. Their effectiveness is shaped by patient care tasks, professional behavior, and interpersonal relationships. Though, there's a limited understanding of the factors influencing job performance among healthcare professionals in Ethiopian public hospitals. OBJECTIVE: To assess job performance and associated factors among health care professionals in Wolaita Sodo university comprehensive specialized hospital, Southern Ethiopia Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted from June to August 2024 among 270 health professionals selected through a simple random sampling method. Structured questionnaire was used to collect data using Kobo Collect mobile application and exported to SPSS version 26 for analysis. Descriptive statistics was applied to summarize the data using frequency tables and graphs. Bivariate analysis was undertaken to select candidate variables with p-value < 0.25 for the multivariable logistic regression model. Finally, variables with p-values ≤ 0.05 were identified as statistically significant predictors of job performance along with Adjusted Odds Ratio and 95% CI. Results: The current study findings indicate that a majority of participants (68.9%, 95% C.I: 63.3, 74.1) demonstrated good job performance. Besides, satisfaction (AOR=7.380, 95% CI: 3.664–14.862), competence (AOR=5.612, 95% CI: 2.747–11.463), leadership (AOR=5.294, 95% CI: 2.535–11.057), and motivation (AOR=2.35, 95% CI: 1.07–5.13) were identified as statistically significant factors influencing health professionals' job performance. Conclusion and recommendation The findings of this study indicate that two-third of healthcare professionals at Wolaita Sodo University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital had a good job performance rate. Key factors influencing job performance include job satisfaction, leadership, motivation, and competence. To address these issues, relevant stakeholders should collaborate to implement training programs for health professionals and leaders to enhance motivation and competence in the workforce. en_US
