dc.description.abstract In Wolaita zone, sodo Town, there is very limited storage capacity and late delivery of construction material for public building construction projects, and most of the time the performance of construction projects suffers by improper handling of materials during construction activities and delayed delivery of materials on the site. This project paper has an assessment of problem related to material delivery and on sit management. The study was carried out at a different location in the Wolaita zone. The study's literature review identifies problems with material delivery and on-site management, which are submitted to respondents' ideas and opinions using a structured questionnaire. The primary sources for this study's information were the contractor, consultants, and clients from both sites, who were chosen on purpose. The data was examined using SPSS v16 and Excel 2013, giving a response rate of 69.56%. The survey found that, with an 80% response rate, supplies are frequently delivered late. Elements that affect materials management, such as quality control and inspection, handling of materials, and material storage on site, also cause delays in project completion times. The main measures for effective material management included placing orders for materials in a timely manner, using qualified construction professionals, handling materials properly, keeping track of receipt of goods up until delivery, and scheduling materials. Based on the research's findings, it was determined that changes to materials management procedures are needed to fix general issues with handling materials and increase productivity on the building site. Additionally, it was advised that effective planning for material management be used on all sites and for all types of building construction from the beginning of the project until it was completed in order to reduce material shortages. en_US
