dc.description.abstract More than ever, during COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of healthcare facilities is highlighted for community benefit. South Omo Zone was not left behind in getting affected by this great worldwide epidemic. Already scarce health facilities dwindled in the absence of building infrastructure facilities. F. D. R E. has initiated many healthcare delivering infra projects whose progress is unhealthy. This independent project delves into the critical examination of the factors influencing the performance of construction projects within South Omo Zone, focusing specifically on healthcare projects. Through a comprehensive case study approach, this research sets out to identify, analyze, and understand the multifaceted elements that contribute to both the success and challenges encountered in executing construction projects. By drawing on a combination of primary data collected, including surveys, interviews with stakeholders, and on-site observations, coupled with secondary data analysis, this study aims to provide valuable insights into the unique dynamics at play in construction project management within the healthcare sector of South Omo Zone. The research has explored various factors such as project planning and design, budgeting and cost control, stakeholder engagement, quality control, risk management, and the influence of local regulatory frameworks and environmental conditions. Additionally, the study has investigated the impact of socio-cultural aspects, workforce dynamics, technological advancements, and procurement practices on project performance. By rigorously examining these factors, the project endeavors to offer a comprehensive understanding of the complexities surrounding construction projects in the region and provide actionable recommendations for enhancing project performance and ensuring successful project completion. The time performance affecting significant factors are delay to furnish and deliver the site (Right of site way problem), financial problems and improper planning. Resource Management-Related Factors Whereas the extremely significant factors affecting cost performance were design changes, fluctuations in the cost of most significant factors affecting quality performance were construction project educated personnel, relevant work experienced personnel, quality of materials and equipment used in the project construction and conformance to specification. Stakeholder Management-Related Factors affecting construction performance are lack of communication and stakeholder management strategies. Procurement Management-Related Factors are inefficient procurement strategy and lack of control. The anticipated outcomes of this research include the development of a framework for effective project management practices tailored to the unique context of healthcare projects in South Omo Zone, as well as the generation of practical guidelines and strategies to mitigate potential challenges and optimize project outcomes. By shedding light on the key determinants of project success and failure, this study seeks to contribute to the body of knowledge in construction project management and provide valuable insights for stakeholders, policymakers, and practitioners involved in healthcare infrastructure development in the region. en_US
