dc.description.abstract Inland ports promote regional development and are particularly useful in landlocked countries whose shipments pass through a nearby seaport. Ethiopia has begun building inland dry docks along transshipment corridors. And this change has helped the country save foreign currency and increase efficiency in import and export activities. Of the inland ports built, Modjo has been identified by the government as a key node of Ethiopia's new multimodal trade logistics system. To get the most out of these inland ports, the efficient and effective operation of the inland terminals is crucial and for this, it is important to analyze the performance of the inland terminals. Therefore, the objective of this study on inland ports is the efficient and effective operation of the inland terminals is crucial and for this, it is important to analyze the performance of the inland terminals. Therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze the performance of management measures for inland port operations based on port performance indicators and ranking factors of importance of them. To achieve this goal the researcher used both quantitative and qualitative research methods total data was collected from 147 employees and customers. Data were collected using entrance data, warehouse data, questionnaires and data were analyzed queue theory, lead time, multile rgression by IBM SPSS version 20 using descriptive and interpretive statistics using secondary data. The survey results show that most of the respondents disagree with the efficiency level of the inland ports information technology. The character of queuing modelling is to provide maximum utilization of a system at a minimized constraint. The main aim of the waiting system is to ensure that the service speed is higher than the speed of arrival, so that the system can be considered effective. Performance indicators that discussed in this study, namely the handling equipment quality, size of dry port, infrastructure of the port and custom clearance process are significant predictors for the dependent variable of performance dry port. The results for queue analysis at the entrance gate of Mojo dry port showed that a utilization factor of 1.2 was obtained. On the other hand, the lead time at customs examination warehouse reveals an extreme variance between the larger and smaller values which confirms that delay is incurred reason of working without a proper schedule. en_US
