dc.description.abstract Soils are naturally occurring materials that support civil engineering structure loads such as roads and buildings. However, not all natural soils are suitable for construction purposes because of limited strength and instability under the variation of environmental conditions. Weak subgrade soil causes of problems in pavement construction due to its tendency to swell, and shrinks. This soils can cause severe damages to construction, increasing maintenance costs, affecting the strength and structure life. Hence, the aim of this study has been conducted to evaluate the combined effect of marble dust and cement material on strength of an expansive soil properties. And also prediction of soaked CBR value using three ingredients without experimental test result of field study. Thus, soils should be stabilized with different percentages of marble dust (5-25%) and cement (2%- 12%). To realize the desired objective, a purposive sampling technique was adopted to collect soil samples at depth of 1.5m. Four pit sample soil have been collected along road alignment. Statistical analysis Correlation coffiecent( r), P-value, T-test, and ANOVA analysis was applied to evaluate/verify the combined effects of admixtures on properties of expansive soils by Minitab software. Scheffe’s simplex lattice analysis was used in this study to predict soaked CBR value using the three ingredients (soil- cement- marble dust proportion) to reduce field test data. The laboratory test result of the soil shows that it belongs to the A-7-5 and A-7-6 class of soil according to AASHTO whereas, it belongs to CL and CH based en_US
