dc.description.abstract This study has been carried out in order to determine the optimum blending proportion of Graded crushed stones with non-plastic soils. In this regard, an investigation into the improvement of Graded crushed stones by stabilization technique was conducted using sample collected from Hageremariam Area. In the first phase of investigation mechanical stabilization has been carried out at various proportion of Non-plastic soil blended with Graded crushed stones. Sieve analysis and compaction method has been adopted for the determination of the optimum amount of Non-platic soils that makes up the deficiency of fine particles and has been found to be 10% by compaction and sieve analysis. It has demonstrated that the application of engineering judgment has been a significant aspect of the continuing use of naturally occurring material in roads. The information contained in this document has been assembled so that where possible Engineering Judgment can be supported by relevant tests and understanding of the significance the test results. en_US
