| dc.description.abstract | The objective of this study was to examine the impact of tutorial class on female students’ academic achievement in physics at Hawassa city in Addis Ketema secondary and preparatory school. In order to attain the objective of this study correlation method as well as case study design were employed. The subjects of the study were 33 science stream female students and 8 teachers of physics who were selected by simple random sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were questionnaire, interview, and observation and to supplement these instruments, document analysis, pre-test and post-test were used to collect data of the study. The data gathered were analyzed by using statistical tools such as mean, standard deviation, percentage, one sample t-test and correlation. Results of the study revealed that the tutorial class has an impact on female students’ academic achievement in physics. i.e. the tutorial class was positively correlated or its correlation r= 0.42 with academic achievement in physics as seen in the current study. The researcher assessed the impact of tutorial class on female students’ academic achievement in grade 11 physics as a result of his assessment he assured that the tutorial class has an impact on academic achievement of female students in grade 11 physics. So the schools can make it continuous program to support female students’ academic achievement in physics. | en_US |
